The Central Park Conservancy relied on the expertise of Davey Resource Group to conduct an inventory of more than 24,000 existing trees and 8,000 benches throughout the park.
To ensure the growth, sustainability, and overall health of Tempe's urban forest and the benefits that trees provide, and in support of the goals of the City's General Plan 2030, the City of Tempe, Ariz., contracted with Davey Resource Group to develop a management plan for their urban forest program. This plan also included an i-Tree component that analyzed the value of Tempe's right-of-way trees. The resulting urban forest management plan outlined recommended strategies intended to support and grow Tempe's urban forest now and in the future.
The Town of Leesburg, Virginia, is experiencing rapid population growth and commercial and residential development. This growth has resulted in an estimated 71 percent reduction in the Town's tree canopy. This significant finding motivated the Leesburg Tree Commission to request that Davey Resource Group help the Town recover and protect Leesburg's tree canopy by establishing an Urban Forestry Master Management Plan.
The Village of East Hampton, New York, has relied on Davey to help manage an important natural resource within their Village-their urban forest. To help the Village better keep track of trees located with public rights-of-way and public spaces, Davey developed an electronic "tree layer" for the Village's GIS. The Village also purchased Davey's TreeKeeper® 7.6 Online Version tree management software. This is Davey's own tree management software developed specifically for municipalities to manage their street tree populations.
To complement Chicago’s lakefront enhancements, the Public Building Commission of Chicago is overseeing the renovation and construction of a new marina and park in the area.Davey Resource Group Land Development Solutions worked directly with the architect and took an active role from the beginning.
Under the direction of Tree Pittsburgh, Davey Resource Group prepared the Pittsburgh Urban Forest Master Plan: A Road Map for the Effective Management of Our Urban Forest in 2012. The plan outlines goals and recommendations to achieve the city’s 20-year vision for its urban forest.
